As part of ŠIPK’s activities, FRI students supported the Zeitgeist, Slovenian Sustainability Society. During the European project, they helped us with the computer system, where they accelerated our operation by eliminating problems in our information system.
The European ŠIPK project Record and reuse of used computer equipment (EPURO) gave them the task to improve the information system with which we manage our activity Computers for Socially Impaired (CSI). As the current information system was made some time ago and with very limited resources, some errors were revealed in it which hindered our association in our primary operation – giving used computers to those who need them the most.
With the help of technical mentor Igor Bagon from VOLOS, FRI students started to improve the mentioned information system by taking a list of remarks provided to them by the members of our association and splitting the list among themselves. Each helped to fix some major or minor system error. While improving the system, they also noticed some bugs, which were eliminated.
In the end, they made the system much more useful for managing the CSI activity and made a better user experience in our daily work.
